Our Story

Stenocara is a company inspired by a beetle. Not just any beetle, but one of the most resourceful and efficient insects on the planet. The beetle lives in the Namib Desert, a place so intensely hot that no ice cube may ever enter the region. It is by far one of the driest and hottest places on Planet Earth. Most species cannot live there but there is an exception.

The Stenocara beetle moves beyond the 60 degrees Celsius temperature and the gale force winds to take advantage of one thing, the fog that mystifies a few mornings in a month. The beetle has smooth bumps on its unique back that attract water from the fog. These cause the small droplets of fog water to stick to its back, when a drop gets big enough it flows in between the bumps along its back and straight into its thirsty mouth.

We were inspired by this nifty little creature. Its tolerance to live in such harsh conditions but its creativity for survival led us to set up this company. An organisation which makes the most of its resources but develops solutions that are inspiring, effective and intuitive.
